Honestly, makeup brushes are gross. They pick up all the icky bacteria and germs from your skin, the surfaces you set them down on, and the room you store them in (*cough* toilet residue *cough*). If you’ve never considered regularly cleaning your brushes before (judgment free zone, almost everyone’s guilty of gross brushes), we’re here as the solution.
Makeup users and lovers in the Denver area can visit FIXT in person (or opt for our complimentary home delivery service) to have brushes expertly sanitized, and broken brushes and palettes professionally restored.
After being recognized as one of South Bay’s Women in Business in 2011 for my home furnishing and decor business Aera Home, I decided that my next project would be even closer to home (pun fully intended)–my face.
I struggled for years with breakouts, buildup, and feeling self-conscious with my skin, so I decided to create a routine that worked for me. When the problems persisted, I took a closer look at what was going on with my makeup and skincare. Even though I was using clean makeup, following my skincare routine, and doing everything you’re “supposed” to do. to have clean, glowing skin, something still felt off. That’s when it clicked–a clean skincare routine was made null and void by dirty brushes.
Since using my signature brush cleaning process with my own tools, I can feel the difference. Makeup goes on smoother, I have less breakouts, and I feel more confident with and without makeup.
FIXT was inspired by the rigorous sanitation that happens in everyday life–in hospitals, water waste facilities, and even in our own kitchens. We focus on cleanliness basically everywhere but our makeup and brushes. What’s up with that?
